★洛中洛外図屏風とは：
・京都の市中と郊外の景観を霞形や雲形で諸場面に分節し、細部をクローズ・アップして名所や祭礼行事など鳥瞰的に描いた屏風を洛中洛外図屏風という。本図は、京都の東西を描き、左隻では二条城（1603年落成）を望み、右隻では、御所、方広寺大仏殿、祇園会の様子を表している。
・A genre of its own， this set of folding screen depicts iconic locations and occasions of and around the Imperial Kyoko in close-ups， divided by mists and clouds forming frames. The left screen shows the Nijō Castle (built in 1603)，and the right one depicts the Imperial Palace， the great hall of Daibutsu-den of the Hōkō-ji temple and a scene of Gion-e festival.
